Can You Get Immediate Social Security Disability Approval?

Whether a person is applying for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI), the odds for receiving benefits are not high, and most claims are denied the first time. However, the Social Security Administration makes special allowances for certain conditions that qualify a person for aid simply with a diagnosis. These conditions are known as Compassionate Allowances Conditions, and both children and adults with these conditions are eligible for receiving SSA aid.

Conditions covered include ALS/Parkinsonism Dementia Complex, Child Lymphoma, heart transplant wait list, liver cancer, pancreatic cancer, and thyroid cancer. For a full list, visit the directory of CAL conditions. On August 20, 2018, five conditions were added to the list: Fibrolamellar Cancer, Megacystis Microcolon Intestinal Hypoperistalsis Syndrome (MMIHS), Megalencephaly Capillary Malformation Syndrome (MCAP), Superficial Siderosis of the Central Nervous System, and Tetrasomy 18p.

The general nature of these conditions is that it is a severe condition that is terminal or expected to last at least one year. People with these conditions not only receive SSA aid approval but also receive aid more quickly.

If you have a condition that is not on the list but you believe you may qualify for SSA aid, contact Attorney Richard Smith at (864) 236-5530. He has been practicing law for over 30 years and handles Social Security Disability cases.
